Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the MoneyMila Android app ("MoneyMila", "the app", "we", "us") works with, how it is stored, and your choices. It describes the current version of MoneyMila. If the app's functionality changes in the future, this page will be updated to accurately describe the change before it's released.
On this page
1. Information MoneyMila works with
MoneyMila is an expense-management app. To do its job, it works with the financial information you choose to enter, such as:
- Expense and income transactions (amount, date, an optional note)
- Categories you use to organize transactions
- Accounts you set up within the app (for example, cash, bank, or card)
- Summary figures shown on the dashboard and in reports, which are calculated from the above
All of this information is entered by you, directly into the app. MoneyMila does not currently ask you to connect a bank account, card, or any external financial service, and it does not automatically import transactions from anywhere.
2. Local storage
MoneyMila is built offline-first. Your accounts, categories, and transactions are stored in a local database on your own device. MoneyMila does not upload, transmit, or sync this information to any server operated by us or by a third party. Nothing about your day-to-day use of the app - adding a transaction, checking your dashboard, viewing a report - sends your financial data anywhere.
3. Backup and restore
MoneyMila includes a Backup & Restore feature that lets you create a backup file containing your MoneyMila data. When you create a backup, you choose where the file is saved, using Android's standard file picker. MoneyMila does not automatically send this file anywhere.
If you then choose to share, copy, or upload that backup file yourself (for example, to your own cloud storage, or by sending it to someone), that is your own action, taken outside the app, using whatever app or service you select for that purpose - MoneyMila is not involved in that transfer beyond handing the file over as instructed.
Restoring a backup replaces the data currently on your device with the contents of the backup file you choose to restore.
4. Accounts
MoneyMila does not currently require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal identifying information (such as your name, email address, or phone number) to use the app.
5. Data sharing
MoneyMila does not sell your information. MoneyMila does not share your financial data with third parties, because it does not transmit that data off your device in the first place, aside from the user-initiated backup export described above.
6. Third-party services
The current version of MoneyMila does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting service, and does not connect to any external server or API. If a future version of MoneyMila adds any such service, this section will be updated to name it and explain what it does before that version is released.
7. Permissions
MoneyMila does not request special Android permissions such as contacts, location, camera, microphone, or SMS access. Saving and opening backup files uses Android's built-in file picker, which does not require a broad storage permission.
8. Security
Because your financial data stays on your device rather than traveling over the internet, its protection largely depends on your own device's security - for example, using a screen lock. We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date and protecting it with a passcode, PIN, pattern, or biometric lock.
A backup file you create is a regular file on your device (or wherever you choose to move it). Please store and share backup files carefully, since they contain your financial records.
9. Data retention and deletion
Your data stays on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. You can:
- Delete individual transactions at any time from within the app.
- Remove all of MoneyMila's local data by uninstalling the app.
- Delete any backup file yourself, the same way you'd delete any other file on your device or wherever you saved it.
Because MoneyMila does not hold a copy of your data on any server, there is no separate "delete my account" request to make with us - removing the app and any backup files you've made removes your data.
10. Children's privacy
MoneyMila is a general-purpose personal finance tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and as explained above, it does not collect or transmit personal information from any user.
11. Changes to this policy
If MoneyMila's functionality changes in a way that affects this policy - for example, if a future version adds an online account, cloud sync, or a third-party service - we will update this page to accurately describe the current version of the app before that version is released. We encourage you to review this page occasionally.
